Hima Cement Heathens consolidated their spot at the top with a 30-03 win against Buffaloes in the start of the second round of the Rugby Premiership.

The game played under Kyadondo floodlights, saw Heathens stage a strong second-half performance to remain unbeaten.

The side scored four of their five tries in the second stanza.

Heathens have now collected 48 points, nine above Betway Kops in second.

This is the second straight loss for Buffaloes who ealier last 10-15 loss to Stanbic Blank Pirates.

The reverse fixture in the first round saw Heathens win Buffaloes 25-00

Donald Oketayot split the sticks to cancel Joseph Oyet’s penalty as the teams drew 03-03 inside the first 12 minutes.

Kenneth Okong scored the visitor’s try but Oyet failed to provide the extras as the leaders took a 08-03 lead at the break.

Oyet, after receiving from Paul Masendi, grounded for the second try of the game.

Alex Mubiru had his try canceled after a biased lineout but the visitors kept the foot on the pedal before tries from Emmanuel Byamugisha, Mubiru, Innocent Gwoktho and Oyet handed Pirates deserved cushion.

Chris Lubaga provided the extras.
