Sources: Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago Set To Miss CHAN

KCCA FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago is set to miss the forthcoming Total African Nations championship (CHAN) to be held in Cameroon.

Lukwago got injured in a Startimes premier league game at Lugogo as KCCA FC played against Express FC.

After a calamitous act where he los possession for Express to capitalise and get a penalty in quick turn of events where teammate Musa Ramathan was sent off, Lukwago was stretched off at the halftime stroke for Ali Mwirusi.

The unofficial reports from KCCA FC indicates that the shotstopper is sidelined for six weeks.

Charles Lukwago

This will be a big blow for Uganda Cranes and Lukwago who many, initially, thought that he was feigning an injury in shame and to avoid wrath from head coach Mike Mutebi.

Lukwago has been the first choice goalkeeper for the Uganda cranes in the CHAN qualification campaign featuring in all the games cranes played.

The blow comes after James Alitho has left the country already and hence ineligible.

Possible Replacements

Uganda cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba will be left with tricky options for selection to replace Lukwago, if all this comes to pass.

Alionzi Nathian

Nathian has been an on form goalkeeper at URA since the departure of first choice goalkeeper James Alitho and he has been monitored on different occasions

Saidi Keni
The Sc Villa shot stopper has been in the set up and he will be thought of earlier

He was the third choice goalkeeper in the previous tournament to Benjamin Ochan , Isma Watenga

Joel Mutakubwa

The Kyetume Fc goalkeeper has had a form of his life with the slaughters this season since his move from Tooro United

Mutakubwa has been a second choice to Lukwago and his expected to step up in goal
