
Sensational younger swimmer Kirabo Namutebi has continued with her impressive heroics after a commendable performance at CANA Zone IV Swimming Championship.
Kirabo scooped five medals in the meet held in Gaborone, Botswana between Thursday, February 20th to Sunday 23rd February 2020.
Kirabo collected two gold medals in 100 and 50m freestyle. She added on two silvers from 50m Breaststroke style and in 50m Butterfly style. She added bronze in 50m backstroke.
This is a slightly improved performance from last year when she won two gold, one Silver and two bronze at the same event in Namibia.
She posted 1:00.45 to beat Van der westhuizen and Egner Maxime to take that 100m freestyle in emphatic fashion.
The entire team Uganda has performed well with another junior swimmer Avice Meya winning a bronze in 200m butterfly style.
The Masters team of three collected a silver medal per each which the federation president and newly appointed chairman of National council of sports Doctor Donald Rukare set a good example by winning a silver in Breast stroke style.
Peter Ssebanakitta also won a 100 metres of breast stroke and Joseph Kaboggoza added on another silver from 50 Butterfly style.
The competition which was held at the University of Botswana Swimming pool, saw Uganda take 24 swimmers including three master swimmers.
