Massa, Magumba, Babadi Make Uganda Squad To Face African Stars

Uganda squad (selected team) of legends will face African stars as part of celebrations for the Uganda-France Friendship Week.

The All Stars Football game will be played at Namboole on March 22.

Uganda will face a team composed of French and African Football players , led by former Barca star Eto’o and Yaya Toure.

The guest players will also visit some local schools to share a moment with the children and promote the values of sport.

Uganda’s team will be coached by Andy Lule and captained by Geoffrey Massa.

“We will frustrate them,” said FUFA CEO Edgar Watson who hinted that he will have to check his fitness levels to see if he makes the squad.

“We will be able to raise a good performance, I encourage ugandans to come in big numbers at Namboole. This is a big opportunity for Uganda to watch these stars that they enjoyed on TV back in the days”.

Massa who started his football career with Police FC in 2004, is a former captain of Uganda. He has played in Egypt and South Africa among others.

Right back Simon Masaba who is the current Onduparaka FC captain, has been included.

Hakim Magumba, nicknamed Boda Boda, who won seven league titles before retiring in 2015 is among the players on Uganda select side.

Noah Kasule Babadi makes the squad. He featured locally for KCCA and URA FC.

Goalkeepers – Ibrahim Mugisha, Ali Kimera, Ismael Watenga

Defenders – Simeon Masaba, Nestroy Kizito, Bernard Muwanga, Ssaka Mpiima, Edward Kalungi, Ibrahim Kiyemba, Richard Malinga.

Midfielders – Dan Wagaluka, Vicent Kayizzi, Sadam Juma, Keziron Kizito, Steven Bengo, Hakim Magumba, Patrick Ochan, Noah Babadi Kasule.

Forwards – Geoffrey Massa, Robert Ssentongo, Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Brian Umony, Hassan Mubiru.
