Four out of the 34 Uganda Cranes players summoned for CHAN Preparations, missed out on the team’s first training session conducted on Monday Morning at Gems Cambridge International School Grounds, Luzira.
KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago was present but never trained due to a an injury.
KCCA defender John Revita and Vipers’ captain Halid Lwaliwa are sidelined with injuries while Mustafa Kizza is reportedly out of the country.
The 34 players were summoned from only eleven (11) Uganda premier league teams including Police and Proline who are fighting relegation at the moment.
The training ahead of the tourney is expected to run the whole of March despite ongoing Startimes Uganda Premier League.
On Tuesday, about other seven players are likely to miss this training session due to their club’s league fixtures happening.
These include; Samuel Kato, Herbert Achai, Mike Mutyaba and Julius Poloto of KCCA FC, there is also Proline duo of Mustafa Mujuzi and Bright Anukan and Kyetume’s Joel Mutakubya.
Uganda will play Mali and Zambia in a Three-Nation tourney later before flying out on Thursday 2nd, April to Cameron for CHAN.
The Cranes is in group C with defending champions Morocco, Togo and Rwanda.
