Goalkeeper Salim Jamal is set to bounce back in the Uganda Cranes fold ahead of South Sudan duel, The-SportsNation sources have learnt.

On Thursday at FUFA house in Mengo, Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan Mckinstry will announce the squad to face South Sudan in AFCON Qualifiers.

Jamal has been ‘Missing In Action’ since that infamous fall out on social media with MP Odonga Otto following a sit-down strike by the Cranes in 2019 AFCON.

He was later ordered to appear before the FUFA’s Disciplinary Committee in July 2019.

Consequently, FUFA has used their social media pages to confirm that the goalkeeper has been cautioned for making inappropriate comments that brought the game into disrepute.

Kyetume’s Joel Mutakubwa and captain Denis Onyango are the other goalkeepers expected to be on the squad.

Striker Fahad Bayo is one of the few local based players to make the cut when the squad is announced on Thursday.

Left back Alex Kakuba is also set to return while Abdul Lumala and Alexis Bakka have reportedly been cleared to feature at Namboole.

Uganda Cranes will play host to South Sudan on March 31. The side beat Malawi after an away goalless draw against Burkina Faso in the first game of the campaign.
