Uganda Cranes and Vipers’ defender Geoffrey Wasswa hailed the chance given to him to be part of the CHAN provisional squad which is under training ahead of the finals in Cameroon next month.
“I thank God that am among those who were called on the nation team to represent the country in CHAN,” Wasswa said after day eight training at GEMs.
“The training is going on so well, everyone is in good shape, and everyone is already to give in what it takes” he added.
When he was asked about what it takes to make it to final 23 man squad, the defender linked it to sacrifice and coach’s decision.
“I think it needs sacrifice and in training but it still goes back to the coach because he is the one who knows what he needs in a player”
Just like many players on the squad, its also Godfrey Wasswa’s first time to be summoned for the national duties.
