FUFA Summons Ssimwogerere Over His Comments In Bukedde

FUFA Ethics Committee has summoned George Ssimwogerere over his comments made in the Bukedde Newspaper of February 2, 2020.

The former Express coach, in his weekly column, claimed that there had been a conspiracy plan by officials and referees to determine results of their 2nd round match between Express FC and Proline FC.

“The statements made appear to be in contravention of the FUFA Ethics Code,” reads a statement from FUFA.

The gaffer will appear before the Committee on Monday, March 16 2020 at FUFA House Mengo to provide more information about his statements.

What Sim wrote in part;

“Prior to our game against Proline, one official called the referee and promised him money if we lose the game but God helped us and we won the game.

“That exact referee called me and told me what exactly happened, I informed my boss accordingly and he followed the development but later kept quiet after knowing the intention of his fellow official..”

In related developments, the investigatory chamber has summoned URA FC coach Sam Simbwa over his allegations made via social media on 8th January 2020 by former URA FC CEO Ivan Kakembo in which he claimed that the coach always had ‘a budget of bribing referees’.

FUFA has added that they have opened preliminary investigations into the allegations by Simbwa as they appear to contravene the ethics code.

He will appear before the committee on Monday 16.
