Salim Jamal: Cranes Goalkeeper Extends Support To Fight Covid19

Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal has come out to extend support to help Uganda fight Coronavirus pandemic and its adverse effects.

The Al Hilal (Sudan) goalkeeper has given out food to his home district Pallisa which comes as relief after people have been ordered to stay at home.

“Our very own Omar Jamal Salim who happens to be a second goalkeeper on the Uganda Cranes team donated 28 bags of posho,” Pallisa district official has confirmed.

“Some of the food will be distributed to the Pallisa hospital, Police and some selected vulnerable people.”

He becomes the first Cranes player to extend his support officially in this pandemic era.

Football and Sports in general, among other activities, have been put on standstill world over because of the Covid19 pandemic.

Jamal has a track record of giving back to the society from.the past; He opened up a car washing bay in Katooke zone and also set up a football academy in Pallisa district among others.

His football career has seen him win the Uganda Premier League with Express FC in 2011/12 and twice with KCCA FC (2012/12 and 2013/14).

He joined Al-Merrikh in 2014 before switching to Al-Hilal club in the same country – Sudan.
