 Ambrose Kirya Reveals Best Moment In SC Villa Jersey

Attacking Midfielder Ambrose Kirya has said that SC Villa’s 3-2 comeback victory against rivals Express FC in 2015/16 season is his best football moment.

Going two down, Karim Ndugwa halved the deficit in the 37th minute before Kirya scored a brace to seal the win in a vintage performance.

Tony Odur and Caesar Okhuti had given Express FC a two-goal cushion inside the opening 10 minutes of the game.

“It’s my best moment ever,” Kirya who scored two goals in the 63rd and 66th minute told The-SportsNation in an exclusive interview. “I think it was one of our best victories in that season.”

“The special thing in an Express Vs Villa game is that you as an individual you market yourself because it is one of the biggest games in the league which brings a lot of people and you are always remembered when you play good in that game.”

Kirya is one of the longest serving players at SC Villa having joined the record winners in 2014.

He started playing serious football in Primary five at Main street school.

“My parents did not want me to play football but when I started studying for free because of my talent, they picked interest,” Kirya revelead.

Kirya joined JIPA SS in 2006 where he studied until form four.

In 2010, he joined Amazon FC in Iganga, a team that was playing in regional league. After a season, he was snatched by then Big league club Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos where he played for two seasons.

Kirya cites Villa’s 7-0 loss against FUS Rabat as his worst moment.

In April 2016, Rabat obliterated Villa in a CAF Confederation Cup last 16 first leg at Stade Moulay Abdallah in Moroccan capital.

He says that David Bagoole and Nicholas Kasozi are his best friends, and adds David Owori and Derrick Ndahiro to the other two as his best players in the league.

“Internationally, I love Andreas Iniesta and Lionel Messi. But I was inspired by Zinedine Zidane when growing up to play football.”

Did You Know – Kirya was nicknamed Ambrosini (Massimo Ambrosini, the former AC Milan player) by teammates and friends, a name which he says that it was got from his name of Ambrose.
