Coronavirus: Tanzania To Test All Players As League Nears Return

Tanzania to test all top division players ahead of league resumption, the Citizen TZ has reported.

The players and match officials will undergo medical examination according to the league’s CEO Almassy Kasongo.

“Any player who is found positive would not feature in the league if and when it resumes,” Kasongo told the Citizen.

Tanzania is waiting for a green-light from the government to finalise league resumption which is expected to return in mid June.

A total of 21 people have died while 183 have recovered from the 509 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Tanzania.

When the league was stopped in March, Simba SC were runaway leaders with 71 points, as Azam and Young Africans followed with 54 and 51 points respectively.
