Rugby: Uganda’s Philip Wokorach Joins New Club In France

Philip Wokorach has joined France championship team Association Sportive de Bedarrides et Chateauneuf-du-pape (ASBC).

The club confirmed the news on Wednesday via their official Twitter handle.

The 26-year old joins his new side after helping Bourges earn promotion to fourth division of French rugby.

Woko, as commonly knownly in Uganda, was brought up from Naguru and played for Buffaloes and Heathens before joining Kabras in Kenya.

His kicks, side steps and try-scoring ability make him stand out from the rest and considered on of the best player Uganda has ever produced.

Despite suffering two would-be career-ending injuries when he broke a leg in 2013 and 2015, Woko managed to bounce back, putting up strong performances for both club and country.
