Isaac Mwesigwa: Express FC Appoints New CEO

StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Express FC has appointed Isaac Mwesigwa as the new Chief Executive Officer.

He replaces Hamza Junju who “ceases to be the new CEO with immediate effect” for the Wankulukuku based club.

The development was confirmed in a letter signed by club chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka, seen by this website.

“As we continue to rebuild our club, it gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Mr. Isaac Mwesigwa as the new Express FC CEO,” read the letter in part.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Hamza Jjunju, the outgoing CEO, for a job well done in steering the club over the past few years.”

This is the confirmation to earlier reports in February before the developments later fazed out.

Mwesigwa is currently a Technical and Support Manager for Ntest, Inc (an American Fiber Optics Company based in Minneapolis, USA) representing Africa, Middle East, Asia and parts of Europe.

He has previously held roles that include Network Operations Centre Manager for Liquid Telecom and Support Engineer with UNESCO Accra, Ghana.

The letter adds: “As the Board, we welcome his addition to the club and are confident that he shall write a new chapter in the success annals of Express FC.”

The new CEO has been involved in Uganda football since 2008 and comes with vast experience in player development and talent identification. He is partly credited for the success of players like Allan Okello, Julius Poloto, Mustafa Kizza and Peter Magambo among others.
