‘Cancelling Season Was Good News For She Corporates’

She Corporates midfielder Jacky Ogol has said that decision to end the season was a blessing in disguise for her club.

FUFA last month ended the football season because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The league was earlier halted in March as one of the means to follow government directives on the novel virus.

“This was good news for the team because we were having a terrible season. We’ll use this time to re-think our game plan and plan effectively for next season,” Ogol told Nation Sports (Kenya).

The Kenyan International who joined She Corporates in 2018, has also featured for Uganda’s Gafford FC.

She added:

“I have previously played for another Ugandan side Gafford. I must say She Corporates has helped me improve my skills, although I still have a lot of ground to cover, so far so good.”

She Corporates were fourth on the log with 10 points from eight league games. They were trailing leaders Kawempe Muslim (17) by seven points as Uganda Martyrs High School and Lady Doves were second and third in that order.

The Women Football League season was declared null and void by the Federation – no champion or relegation – as only one of the three rounds had been played.

Ogol who played for Kenyan teams Starlets and Matuu FC, represented Kenya in the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).
