KCCA FC CEO Anisha Muhoozi Clarifies On ‘Released’ Players

KCCA FC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anisha Muhoozi has clarified on the going rumours surrounding the ‘suspension’ of the players.

Daily Monitor on Tuesday, quoting club coach Mike Mutebi, said that a couple of players will be let go before the start of next season.

The said players include Saddam Juma, Muzamir Mutyaba, Jamal Malyamungu, Simon Sserunkuma, Jackson Nunda, Erisa Ssekisambu and Nicholas Kasozi.

“We have not released any player yet,” Muhoozi told this website during a phone interview with this website.

“The decision (on who goes and who stays) is for the board to decide. Coach Mike Mutebi just recommends and then the board sees the way forward.”

When asked about the chances of retaining any of the mentioned players, Muhoozi said that she cannot foresee and can’t tell what will be decided. She added that the board is expected to sit next week to make the awaited decision.

KCCA FC who lost Allan Okello midway through last season, are expected to come back hungry next season after failing to defend the league title.

Vipers were crowned champions, their fourth title, after the season was ended by FUFA due to Coronavirus pandemic, with five games still to play.
