Egyptian Premier League is set for a return after it was suspended in March due to Covid19.
With the clubs set to start training on Saturday June 20, the country’s Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi said that the league can resume on July 25.
In Africa, Burundi and Tanzania have resumed football activities under some regulations not to escalate the spread of Covid19.
There have been calls in the press asking the Egypt Football Association to cancel the season.
Egypt is home for many Uganda players that include Patrick Kaddu (Ismaily SC) who is on loan from Moroccan club RS Berkane.
Khalid Aucho (Misr Lel Makasa), Tadeo Lwanga (Tanta), Allan Kyambadde (El Gouna), Emmanuel Arnold Okwi (Ittihad Alexandria) and Abdu Lumala (Pyramids) are the other players.
Al Ahly are top of the log with 49 points after 17 games with Al Mokawloon and Pyramids in second and third respectively and have played a game more than the leader.
