Ivan Kakembo Reopens Feud With Coach Ssimbwa

Former URA FC CEO Ivan Kakembo took another swipe at coach Sam Ssimbwa.

Kakembo and Ssimbwa have been at loggerheads since the days at SC Villa under then club president Ben Misagga.

The war of words was reignited when the two met last season at URA FC.

While appearing on Sanyuka TV on Friday, Kakembo claimed that Ssimbwa cannot work under structures and he is of a low class.

“Nothing brings me together with Ssimbwa but the job,” Kakembo said. “Even when I go for a holiday, I will be in Miami in the USA but Ssimbwa will be at Pine.”

“What Ssimbwa failed to understand is that he cannot work under organizational structures. He is a coach but wants to be the CEO and everything at the same time.

“At Villa, he let players sing songs about his wife (Sophie Nantongo) and at one time I guess his wife never came back and he ended up punching midfielder Steven Bengo, you all remember those disciplinary proceedings.”

Kakembo left his role as URA FC CEO last year in December after his contract at the club expired.

His stint at the Tax Collectors was overshadowed by the bickering with Ssimbwa, with the coach accusing his CEO of signing players without being consulted.

Kakembo also recently claimed that Ssimbwa asked him a budget to bribe referees.
