Boban Zirintusa Nets Double As Mtibwa Slash Singida

Uganda’s Boban Zirintusa scored a brace to help his side Mtibwa Sugar SC overcome hosts Singida United FC in the Tanzania Premier League.

Boban scored in the 7th and 24th minute, and Riphat Khamis added the third in the 63rd to take a 3-1 win.

Steven Sev’s 87th minute goal was not enough to help the home side who remains at the bottom of the 20-team log.

Boban’s Mtibwa is 12th on the table with 37 points after 31 games and will visit Mwadui FC on Saturday, June 27.

Boban joined Mtibwa this year in January from Busoga United, his second spell at the club after featuring for the Tanzanian outfits from 2009 to 2013.

The stylish midfielder has also played for Simba SC, Buildcon, Mohun Bagan, Polwakane, Vipers and SC Villa.

Simba SC are runaway leaders with 75 points as Nicholas Wadada’s Azam FC are second with 56 points.

The Tanzania league returned under strict guidelines – Somalia and Burundi Leagues are the others that resumed despite the Covid19 pandemic.
