Madam Hope Diana has confirmed she will be remaining with Busoga United as the club chairperson despite pursuing a political seat.
The embattled Busoga United chairperson has ruled out a possible move away from football administration.
Nyago, in January, confirmed that she will be representing the people of Njeru Municipality in the coming 2021 elections.
She is the outgoing headmistress of Jinja SS, a school that is affiliated to Busoga United FC. The Ministry of Education appointed Isaac Balimusangayo as the new head teacher.
“The club is majorly owned by the school board and me. I am still going to be the chairperson and will strive to take the club forward,” Nyago is quoted by Daily Monitor.
“I will still fight for all the privileges that we deserve as the club.”
Nyago has been in the news in the recent past after Busoga Kingdom came out to withdraw naming rights from the team and Kyabazinga (King) ceased to be the Club Patron as well.
“This club had no major agreement with the kingdom over shares and name, if they had proceeded to court, we would outrightly win because they haven’t been involved in the running of the club.”
Earlier, a statement from Busoga Kingdom said that Nyago allotted Kyabazinga and Katikkiro each 2% Busoga United FC shares without their consultation.
