Mbarara City is set to beat Express FC to the signature of towering defender Benon Tahomera.
Tahomera is set to become a free agent when his contract with Kyetume FC expires in August and it is believed that the player is not willing to renew his contract.
If the deal comes to pass, he will be expected to partner Hilary Mukundane in the heart of defence for the Ankole Lions.
Brian Ssenyondo’s coached side were seventh with 36 points when the league was ended because of Covid19 pandemic.
Tahomera joined Kyetume FC from MYDA FC, and he later helped the Mukono-based team to earn promotion from the FUFA Big League.
The former Kataka FC player and Bukedi Province in the FUFA Drum, was a big pillar as Kyetume finished 11th with 30 points last season on their first attempt in top flight.
He has been linked with KCCA and Express among other suitors.
