Small Forward Geoffrey Soro has joined Nam Blazers, the Namuwongo based team has confirmed.
The player has signed a one year contract with the newly promoted National Basketball League outfits.
Soro, it is said, that he was released by his Rwanda team 30-plus.
“I grew up in Namuwongo and actually started and fell in love with the game there,” Soro opened up when contacted by this website. “So, it just felt good going back and playing for my home team.”
“And I guess my ex Power players influenced me a lot,” he reluctantly added.
He joins a list of former Power Betway Players who have since joined Nam Blazers including Paul Odong and Syrus Kiviri.
He played for Betway Power, a team he joined from KIU Titans, before moving to Rwanda last year.
He scored 105 points and grabbed 73 rebounds for his club in Rwanda before the league was stopped in Mid March due to a Covid19 induced lockdown.
Formed in 2015, Nam Blazers will be hoping for a strong campaign during their first attempt in top flight.
It is yet known when the NBL will start but close sources at FUBA have hinted that a shorter version of the league may tip off in September.
