Volleyball: Lady Cranes Ranked Ninth In Africa

Uganda’s senior women national volleyball team, the Lady Cranes, are ranked ninth on the continent according to the latest rankings released by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

These, are the latest rankings since the new system of counting was put in place this year.

The World Ranking score (WR score) reflects the current sporting strength of a team and its position in the ranking.

Uganda are ninth on the continent and 91st in the world with a WR score of 56.

Kenya (23), Cameroon (24) and Algeria (35) lead the log on the continent in that order while China tops the world list ahead of USA and Brazil in that order.

There has been no Volleyball action and hence a less significant change in the rankings due to the lockdown induced Covid19 pandemic.

In the Men’s category, Uganda are 18th and 117th in Africa and the world respectively.

Tunisia, Egypt and Cameroon are the leaders on the continent.
