With only three weeks for the Egyptian league to resume, top flight side Tanta SC has released Uganda midfielder Taddeo Lwanga.
Lwanga is one of the two players released by the club that is 15th on the log with 16 points, according to Kingfut, an Egyptian sports website.
He is the latest Ugandan playing abroad to be released in the ongoing transfer window after Joel Madondo (Wydad Casablanca) and Jayden Onen (Brentford) while Khalid Aucho (Makassa) is set to terminate his contract due to unpaid wages.
Lwanga had made 11 appearances and one assist in the league for his club.
The 26-year old midfielder joined Tanta from Vipers in August 2019 after the conclusion of the African Cup of Nations which was hosted in Egypt.
The defensive midfielder started his career with Ndejje United in the second division and also had spells with Kyadondo in Masaza Cup.
In January 2014 he joined Express football club in the Uganda top tier and made his debut against Police football club. He scored his first goal against Lweza on November 2014.
In 2015, he joined SC Villa on a two years deal where he made his debut against Bright Starstars at Champions stadium in Mwererwe in August.
In 2017, he sealed a two-year deal with Vipers.
