KCCA FC have unveiled Bright Anukani who joins the club on a season-long loan from relegated Proline FC.
Anukani is the fifth new signing for the club after Italian Stefano Mazengo Loro, Ashraf Mugume, Charles Lwanga and Denis Iguma.
The youngster was unveiled on Sunday during the KCCA FC TV show on Sanyuka TV, like earlier reported by this website.
“I feel happy about joining KCC,” Anukani said. “Its a big club which every player wants to play for. I am happy to be here.”
“I have many friends here, played with them in academies and others on the national team like Mustafa Kizza, Herbert Achai and Gift Ali.
“I prefer creating chances for the team, I am hardworking and hoping for a great season ahead.”
KCCA who were second behind Vipers when the league was ended by FUFA due to Covid19 pandemic, will represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Anukani says that this will enable him play at a bigger stage, and he is looking forward to working with coach Mike Mutebi.
“I want to play in CAF competitions because they will improve a lot on my career, my target is CAF Confederation groups because we failed to reach there last season with Proline.
“I have talked with Coach Mike Mutebi before signing, he likes me, and I am looking forward to working with him.”
Anukani scored three goals from five games as Uganda Cranes managed to win 2019 CECAFA championship on home soil.
He studied at Ssaba Infant School, Luzira COU, Citizen Parents, London College Nansana and Dynamic SS.
He has featured for Destiny and Luzira soccer academies. He also played for Mutungo FC in regional league before signing for Proline FC in 2017.
He will prefers to play behind a striker (s), and has already drawn comparison with Allan Okello who left the club midway last season to join Algeria’s Paradou.
The 13-time league champions have reportedly signed Pius Obuya and are still targeting Brian Aheebwa and Isma Mugulusi.
