Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants have confirmed the addition of central defender Edward Satulo.
Commonly known as Satro in the football circles, he has signed a three-year contract until 2023 with an option for extension for a further year, the club has announced on Monday.
The 20-year old defender whose role models are Sergio Ramos and Savio Kabugo joins the Purple Sharks from Wobulenzi FC.
He famously made a name in Masaza Cup playing for Gomba and Ssingo where he won the competition twice in 2017 and 2018 respectively after loosing the finals with the former in 2016.
Wakiso Giants coach Douglas Bamweyana has said that Satulo has all the qualities and attributes to quickly become a great player for the club.
“It’s a big step in my career and it couldn’t come at a better time and club. I have won everything in Masaza Cup and feel ready for the challenge in the top division,” said the new signing as quoted by the club website.
“I am still learning and believe am at the right place to continue my development as a player at an ambitious young club like Giants.
“I know what a tough challenge it is but with the coaches, teammates and fans behind the team, I will do well.”
Satulo becomes the third signing for Wakiso Giants who already acquired Ibrahim Kasule and Pius Kaggwa.
He joins other defenders like Ramathan Kateregga, Simon Namwanja, Hassan Wasswa Dazo, Fahad Kawooya among others, at the club.
The Purple Sharks are strongly linked with SC Villa goalkeeper Samson Kirya as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2020/21 season.
They were 10th when the league was ended by FUFA due to Covid19 pandemic and will look to compete better on their second attempt in top flight.
