Boban Zirintusa Rescues Mtibwa To End Season On High

Uganda midfielder Boban Zirintusa ended the Tanzania Premier League 2019/20 season on a high after guiding Mtibwa Sugar SC from the abyss of relegation.

Zirintusa scored a second half brace for Mtibwa who beat Ruvu Shooting in a hard fought victory at CGM Gairo in Moro on Sunday.

The visitors had taken a first half lead when Sadat Mohammed went on target in the 35th minute.

Mtibwa finish 14th on the 20-team log, just above the red zone, with 45 points after 38 games with Simba SC crowned as Champions.

Zirintusa had scored a brace last month as Mtibwa beat Singida FC 3-1.

It has been a successful campaign for the midfielder who joined Mtibwa from Busoga at the beginning of this year. This is his second spell at the club he played for between 2009 and 2013.

He has also featured for Simba, Buildcon, Polokwane, Vipers and SC Villa.
