Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants have on Monday held an annual General Meeting at the club house in Najjanankumbi, Entebbe road.
Notably, the side approved a proposed budget said to be in the region of Sh800M for the 2020/21 season.
This, has been beefed up from Sh700M (approx) which was used last season in their top flight.
Wakiso fished Sh2.5M as Prize money for finishing 10th last season, and just like other UPL clubs, the side is yet to get the last quarter from StarTimes as part of the Sponsorship package.
The Purple Sharks are set to spend big in transfers, salaries (and allowances), transport and match-day programs among others.
The side that finished 10th when the league was ended due to Covid19 pandemic, have acquired coach Douglas Bamweyana, midfielder Ibrahim ‘Owen’ Kasule, Pius Kaggwa and defender Edward Satulo.
They are expected to announce the signing of SC Villa goalkeeper Samson Kirya and a close source has hinted that they will be adding a marquee striker as well.
In the AGM, Chris Evans and Company have been appointed as the external auditors for the club.
The financial statements for the concluded 2019/20 season were also approved.
Club President Musa ‘Atagenda’ Ssebulime, CEO Sula Kamoga, Head of Corporate Affairs Ismael Kiyonga, Directors Lule Hassan and Ahmed Mbabi were in attendance.
FUFA was represented by Humphrey Mandu and former Referee Ali Tomusange.
Ahmed Ddamulira (Company Secretary), Sinan Waiswa (Fans Chairman), Arafat Kasolo (Fans Coordinator) and other club officials attended the AGM.
