MYDA FC CEO Unaware Of FUFA Fine, Warns Of ‘Storm’

Newly promoted MYDA FC has denied being fined the fined by FUFA, with the club CEO Hannington Muwanguzi saying that he knows nothing about it.

FUFA’s licensing committee slapped both MYDA and Onduparaka FC a fine of one million Uganda shillings due to failure to submit any of the mandatory documents required in stipulated time set by FUFA.

Other UPL clubs were also fined Sh500,000 with the exception of KCCA FC and Wakiso Giants for having missing documents.

“I havent received any communication from the Federation (FUFA) about the fine,” Muwanguzi said while appearing on Sanyuka TV on Friday.

“Our file of documents for licencing is already at FUFA as I talk now. It was received by the licensing manager and I was still in timeframe given to us.

“I have to say we were not late because we cannot submit papers before Club Pro agenda which we did it last weekend. We were given a period of a week to submit our documents and so the papers were submitted and I haven’t seen any fine slapped to us – I think there is just miscommunication.”

The CEO also narrated the reason why they delayed to have the FUFA Club Pro Agenda training saying that it was due to Covid19 situation which is hindering transport and movement at points district.

“When the team from federation came, they didn’t reach Malaba and the communication came in very late which led to some misunderstandings,” Muwanguzi added.

“They informed us that they will not be able to reach Malaba, but it was too late to get permission from the RDC for us to reach where they were but finally we sorted it out and so we finished pro agenda last weekend.”
