Andrew Kiwanuka: SC Villa Unveil Former Express Player

SC Villa have unveiled Andrew Kiwanuka as their second signing for the ongoing transfer window.

He joins goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige who was confirmed on Thursday as Edward Kaziba seeks to build a strong side for the 2020/21 season.

Kiwanuka was among the players who were shown exit at Express FC and will seek to resuscitate his career with the Jogoos.

“I feel very excited to join SC Villa. I hope to help the club achieve more success,” he said briefly in a short video posted by Villa.

Kiwanuka joins Villa on a two-year deal.

He arrived at Wankulukuku as an attacking Left Winger last season but he was converted into a left back (switching positions with Dissan Galiwango) by then coach George Ssimwogerere.

He also played for Kansai Plascon and will be fighting with Yayo Lutimba and Derrick Ndahiro for a place in the team.

Villa is still linked to Geoffrey ‘Goffin’ Oyirwoth (another former Express FC player as well) and Duncan Sseninde who bid farewell to Vipers on Friday.

The side who finished third last season below Champions Vipers and KCCA FC is expected to lose many players including Samson Kirya, Bashir Mutanda, Ambrose Kirya, Ibrahim Kibumba among others
