Tooro United Appoint Golola, Coaching Staff Revealed

Tooro United have appointed Edward Golola as the new coach ahead of the 2020/21 season, its official.

Golola joins Tooro United after he was sacked by UPL side Vipers SC towards the end of last season after the Uganda Cup loss to Kajjansi United.

He will work with Simon Ddungu as his assistant while Moses Oloya and Jamada Magasi will be the goalkeeping coach and trainer respectively.

Fred Kasekende has also been appointed as the Junior Team coach.

Richard Eperu, the Club CEO, has said that they are optimistic that the new coaching staff will drive the club forward.

Tooro United will be playing in the FUFA Big League next season after they were relegated alongside Maroons and Proline FC last season.

The side, then under Coach Mohammed Kisekka, ended the season at rock bottom with 22 points after 25 games after the league was ended due to Covid19 pandemic.

Golola who won two league titles with Vipers (2010 and 2015), comes with vast experience but the financial constraints at the club may restrict his targets.

The club, it is said, that they have only 12 players remaining after a recent exodus and the coach will seek administrative support in terms of finances to make some good signings.
