Bright Stars FC have asked their new coach Baker Mbowa to “build a stable” team.
Mbowa was officially appointed on Friday on a three-year deal to replace Paul Kiwanuka.
The side had a rough 2019/20 season; finishing 10th with 29 points in a league that was ended due to Covid19 pandemic.
The-SportsNation has confirmed that Mbowa will work with Simon Mugerwa as his assistant, and the club has vowed to support their technical team in all ways possible.
“We have appointed him because he suits our vision as a club,” Bright Stars FC CEO Mathias Mugwanya told The-SportsNation.
“Our vision is to develop young talented players and we want coach Mbowa to build a stable team that is competitive and can give us a better position next season.
“We shall give him all the support he needs to do his work; like paying players in time, boosting up the team with talented players of his choice all and the motivation needed.”
Mbowa who won the league with KCC in 1997 as a player, joins Bright Stars FC after previous coaching stints with Proline FC.
Bright Stars, formed in 1997, were promoted in Uganda Premier League after winning the FUFA Big League in 2012/13 season.
