Express FC have confirmed rehiring midfielder Mahad Yaya Kakooza on a two-year deal.
Yaya, as commonly known, played for the Red Eagles before switching to SC Villa in June 2017.
He played at Villa for just one season and followed Wasswa Bbosa to Tooro United FC.
He had trials with Poland’s Legia Warsaw but the deal hit a dead a dead end.
Last year in September, Yaya joined Proline FC.
He is the latest former Express FC player to rejoin the club in this window after Godfrey Lwesibawa.
Other new signings at Wankulukuku include Denis Otim, Crispus Kusiima, Abel Eturude, Mustafa Kiragga, Richard Bbosa and Baker Sakah.
More players set to be unveiled by Express include Charles Musiige, Faisal Ssekyanzi, Enoch Walusimbi among others.
Bbosa, just like new CEO Isaac Mwesigwa, has repeatedly said that he wants to assemble a team that will compete for a title next season.
The Red Eagles, who have won the Uganda Cup 10 times and six UPL Championships, have not tasted league triumph since 2011/12 season.
The side lost captain Dissan Galiwango to Vipers and had earlier axed about 12 players including central midfielder Lawrence Kigonya Pantalewo.
The 2020/21 Uganda Premier League season is tentatively set to kick off on October 17, 2020.
