Express CEO Isaac Mwesigwa has revealed how they will solve new signing Godfrey Lwesibawa’s transfer puzzle after the player is said to have signed an agreement to join BUL FC.
Grappling with personal problems, The-SportsNation sources have learnt that Lwesibawa was given Sh1.5m by BUL FC to join the side when he was still a free agent in July this year.
It is said that the player took the money and signed an agreement with BUL FC who have since withheld his National ID and Passport.
Later, the player was persuaded by Express coach Wasswa Bbosa to sign with the Wankulukuku team and he was unveiled on August 25 after he signed a two-year deal.
Mwesigwa says that the matter will not reach FUFA because “we are in touch with BUL”.
“I did a due diligence and found out that Lwesibawa, during Covid19 period, had picked some money from BUL and he handed in his passport,”
Mwesigwa said on Capital FM.
“So, before I paid him, I called my counterpart Ahmed Kongola (BUL FC CEO) and found out that that had happened.
“To conclude, BUL and Express are working hand in hand, there will be no issue, Lwesibawa will pay back the amount of money he took from BUL.”
Mwesigwa added that they can help Lwesibawa “fix his issue, but don’t want to get out and pull ropes here and there” before assuring the fans that the issue will be resolved.
This is the second saga for Lwesibwa since he was unveiled last month at Express FC.
He recently caused a social media stir when he said that Villa is his family which backfired when the Red Eagles fans asked the former Jogoo to apologise.
In defence, Lwesibawa who it is reported that he coordinates activities for a Villa fans branch in Mukono, claimed that his account was hacked.
To leave his former club Tooro United FC, the winger had to seek FUFA intervention to terminate his contract after going months without pay.
