Tito, Three Other Familiar Faces In South Sudan Squad For Cranes Encounter

Tito Okello has been summoned in South Sudan National team squad to face Uganda Cranes in Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

The lanky forward, an Acholi from Gulu, is the latest player to choose to play for South Sudan instead of Uganda Cranes – Partly because of competition for places on Jonathan Mckinstry’s side.

Ivan Wani (Busoga United), URA FC goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian and Mbarara City FC forward Makueth Wol have been included in the squad.

Vipers defender Rashid Toha has not been included in the side despite declaring to play for South Sudan, due to an injury.

The summon, will be a big boost for Tito Okello who recently signed for Kenyan giants Gor Mahia after Vipers exit.

South Sudan Football Association Board of Directors have also announced a “partial resumption” of football activities in the country.

SSLFA has said that they have reached the decision to resume Sports activities after receiving permission from the National COVID-19 Taskforce.

The players for the National team will have to undergo COVID-19 before joining the camp for training.

South Sudan has lined up a friendly with against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions on October 10, 2020 before facing Uganda Cranes in an AFCON double header in November.

The Federation has confirmed that the National Team will start trainings at Buluk Playground on Friday, September 11th.
