PSG will be opening their France Ligue 1 campaign tonight against newcomers RC Lens tonight.

This will be the second game for Lens after falling 2-1 against leaders Nice while PSG were still enjoying their prolonged leave after that Champions League run.

However, the game comes about 20 days since they lost the Champions League final to Bayern Munich.

Fatigue aside, coach Thomas Tuchel has more pressing issues to worry about going into the encounter at Stade Bollaert Delelis.

Seven kept players including their attacking trio of Kyrian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria Neymar Junior will be out after testing positive for Covid19.

Striker Mauro Icardi, goalkeeper Keylor Navas, defender Marquinhos and Leandro Parades are the other absentees for a club that saw Thiago Silva join English Premier League side Chelsea.

“The 7 players that are positive for COVID will be missing,” confirmed Tuchel as quoted by the club website.

“Kalimuendo came back from international duty with an injury and we will see how he feels at training. We have several U19 players available, and Sergio Rico is not qualified.

“I hope Draxler, Kehrer, Dagba, Bulka and Bakker will be in good shape. We hope to have some players back for Sunday, but we’ll have to start with some small individual training.

“The most important thing is the health of the players, we have to manage these situations with a lot of responsibility.”

Lens were impressive against Nice but ended up on a losing side, and will fancy their chances tonight against PSG who has won the league for three straight seasons.

They may lack quality in their squad, with only Gael Kakuta the familiar name in the team, but a game like this is won by teamwork.

Who to Trust: Its always hard to bet against PSG in Ligue 1, because they will always find a way to win games. They however face rivals Marseille on Sunday and I think that will be their main focus.
