Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC has unveiled two more new signings ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Left back Moses Kalanzi and teenager attacking midfielder Andrew Kawooya are the new additions as the side takes tally to eleven new players so far!
Mutebi has said that the new signings will improve his squad and are a “good burden to have” as he seeks to go for a 14th league title.
Kalanzi joins after ending his spell in Denmark where he played for Jammerbugt, Aalborg and Hjorring.
“I thank coach Mike (Mutebi) for giving me this opportunity and am looking forward to working with him because he is the best,” said Kalanzi.
“I have joined KCCA FC because their style of play fits mine and its one of the best clubs in the region.
“This is the best opportunity for me, I am ready to deliver 100%, I am ready for the challenge and I will lift the team from one step to another as we go out to win trophies.”
He has been seen as a direct replacement for Mustafa Kizza who completed his deal to MLS side Montreal Impact.
Kalanzi, before going overseas, started at local academies in the country – Bulenga Academy, Young Eagles Academy, Express Wembley, Super Cubs, Kampala Kids League and Uganda Youth Soccer Academy.
Kawooya on the other hand, is a 17-year old midfielder who is still a senior five student at St Mary’s SS Kitende.
He has played for Junior teams of Lweza, Proline, and Vipers JT in the FUFA Juniors League.
The former Dynamic SS student has represented Uganda Under-17 at the 2018 CECAFA and 2019 AFCON in Tanzania.
Other new signings at KCCA FC include Juma Balinya, Dominic Ayella (Promoted), Samson Kigozi, Brian Aheebwa, Bright Anukani, Denis Iguma, Stefano Mazengo Loro, Charles Lwanga and Ashraf Mugume.
KCCA FC exits include Erisa Ssekisambu, Jackson Nunda (URA), Saddam Juma, Tom Ikara (Police), Eric Ssenjobe (Police), Jamil Malyamungu, Mike Mutyaba (retired) and Mustafa Kizza (Montreal Impact).
