Striker Bashir Mutanda gas completed a move to join Mbarara City FC, the club has confirmed.
The forward joins the Ankole Lions on a two-year deal.
Mbarara who finished 7th with 36 points last season, have not been so active in the transfer window despite the addition of lesser-known Ronald Edwok, Godfrey Kalungi and Karim Ramathan.
Mutanda was strongly linked with a move to URA FC earlier before zeroing down on Mbarara.
He scored two goals for Villa last season, 11 lesser than he managed in the 2018/19 era.
Mutanda started out with Vipers Junior Team in 2015 before joining Buikwe Red Stars and later Busoga United.
