Uganda Cup 2019/20: FUFA Certain Tourney Will Be Finished

Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has expressed confidence that the 2019/20 Uganda Cup will be concluded.

The tourney was halted in March before the Round of 16 was finished due to Covid19 pandemic.

Consequently, the 2019/20 Uganda Premier League was later ended among other FUFA competitions.

FUFA, in an Executive Committee that convened on September 15, says that this season’s Uganda will go on if time permits.

“The 46th Uganda Cup will be played to conclusion unless the time is not sufficient,” FUFA said in a statement.

The Uganda Cup is the second most prestigious competition in Uganda football after UPL.

It is played on a knock out basis, open for non league sides, registered clubs playing in all the football divisions.

Vipers and Express FC were the top sides that had been knocked out from the 2019/20 season at an early stage.

Only one round of 16 fixture, Dove FC 0-1 KCCA (Sadat Anaku), had been played at the round of 16 before lockdown.
