Uganda’s middle distance runner Winnie Nanyondo has missed out on a podium finish in the final Diamond League in Doha.
Nanyondo came fifth, clocking 2:00.49 in her season best, in the 800m race.
She was third coming into the final straight before running out of steam down the stretch.
Pre-race favourite Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon lived as advertised when she won the race in a world lead of 1:57.68.
Spain’s Esther Guerrero, Great Britain’s Tracey Adelle and Ethiopia’s Alem Habitam followed in what was a fast race.
Nanyondo’s time is less than two seconds off her personal best of 1:58.63 and National record of 1:58.04, the latter was set by Nakaayi last year in Doha.
The position is an improvement after she came eighth in 1500m in Ostrava recently.
