Kenya Football Acquires New Broadcasting Partner

Kenya Football Federation President Nick Mwendwa has announced the acquisition of StarTimes as their new broadcasting partner.

The deal has not been made official but Mwendwa spilled the news via his Twitter handle.

Mainly, the deal will see StarTimes broadcast Kenyan Premier League, national teams for both Men and Women, and second division league for a period of seven years.

This is music to ears for the football fans in Kenya whose top flight league recently acquired Betking as the title sponsor.

StarTimes, who have a relatively similar deal with Uganda Premier League, replaces DStv’s SuperSport who ended the partnership in 2017.

The KPL 2019/20 season was ended prematurely due to Covid19 with Gor Mahia declared champions.

The 2020/21 season will kickoff with the promotion and relegation playoffs scheduled for October 7.
