Cranes: FUFA Sends 13 Locally Based Players In Camp

Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan Mckinstry has named a squad of 13 locally-based players ahead of the upcoming Training camp in Dubai.

The 13 players have entered a residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi and will leave this Sunday at 5pm for Dubai, FUFA has communicated.

The selected team include three goalkeepers Charles Lukwago, Joel Mutakubwa and Nafian Alionzi.

Vipers coach Fred Kajoba is reportedly sick and has been replaced by Ibrahim Mugisha as the goalkeeping coach for this camp.

The selected 13 players will be joined a foreign legion in Dubai for the 9-day camp as Uganda Cranes gears up for the upcoming double header with South Sudan next month.

In the selected squad, there is no place for UPL top scorer Steven Mukwala and KCCA’s Gift Ali despite their strong performances in the 2019/20 season.

KCCA FC defender Samuel Kato makes a surprising appearance after his breakthrough season at Lugogo.

Contrary to earlier report, the players will be tested for Covid19 at the Cranes hotel in Kisasi not Mulago.
