Uganda Cranes striker Steven Mukwala is set to join Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko.
This, follows a powerful campaign for Mukwala who finished as the 2019/20 Uganda Premier League top scorer with 13 goals with Maroons on loan from Vipers.
Kotoko’s Head of Communications Moses Antwi, while appearing on Oyerepa FM in Ghana also revealed that the deal is advanced talks.
“We are expecting the arrival of a Ugandan striker for our next season’s campaign,” Antwi noted, as quoted by gbAfrica.
The player is a free agent after his contract with Vipers ended, a side he joined in June 2017 from Edgar’s Youth FC.
The former Ssingo and Bulemeezi player in Masaza Cup, was earlier strongly linked to join URA FC.
Asante Kotoko also approached Uganda Cranes defender Murushid Juuko and Striker Joel Madondo.
Joseph Ochaya and George Abege are the two Uganda Players to have played for Asante Kotoko.
