FUFA Cancels 2019/20 Uganda Cup

Federation of Uganda Football Association has cancelled the 2019/20 Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The competition has been declared null and void – no winner.

KCCA FC, as earlier suggested, will represent Uganda at the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup.

“There will be no further action of the Stanbic Uganda Cup 46th Edition, FUFA and the sponsor will soon announce the sponsorship details,” reads a document from FUFA

The tournament was halted in March before the round of 16 was concluded due to Covid19 pandemic.

Only one round of 16 fixture, Dove FC 0-1 KCCA (Sadat Anaku), had been played at round of 16.

FUFA rules on Uganda Cup to determine the winner in event of Force Majeure state:

1) Where the competition due to circumstances of force majeure fails to be completed within the season, the competition winner shall be determined as follows:

a) At and before the second round (round of 32) the competition shall be declared null and void

b) At and after the Round of 16, the competition winner shall be determined by the points and goals acquired for the matches played since the round of 64.
