The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed a new date on which the Uganda Premier League 2021/21 season will kick-off.
In a circular dated 6th October 2020, FUFA Deputy CEO- Football, Decolas Kiiza noted that the new campaign will kick-off on 20th November 2020.
“Kick off of the 2020/21 season is postponed from Saturday, 17th October 2020 to Friday, 20th November 2020.” Reads part of the statement.
This has consequently had an effect on the club licensing and player registration exercises which have also had their deadlines shifted.
“The Club Licensing exercise has been extended to 15th October to enable the process of planning and release of fixtures by Tuesday, 20th October 2020.”
“The player registration is extended by 4 weeks to 19th October 2020.”
It should be noted that last season was not played to conclusion following the outbreak of the COVID-19. Vipers SC were declared champions with five games to play.
