Lumala ‘Feeling Pretty Stronger’ Months After Surgery

Uganda Cranes winger Lumala Abdu says that he is having a steady recovery months after surgery.

The Pyramids player was operated on his knee in June this year in Belgium and was projected to miss about six months.

“Getting closer to my goal 122 days after my surgery. Am feeling pretty stronger. Can’t wait to be back on the pitch. Imagine waking up 6:30am everyday for four months its dedication,” Lumala posted.

The operation in June, was Lumala’s second on the knee after the one in December last year.

Since joining Pyramids, he has managed five appearances.

He was part of the Uganda Cranes squad that reached the knockout in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Lumala will miss the South Sudan double-header in November but he is expected to feature for Cranes in the rest of the games in the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers next year.
