Uganda Cranes captain Denis Masinde Onyango has been nominated in the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League Awards.
The PSL awards seek to recognise the best performers in the South Africa top division for a given season.
Mamelodi Sundowns’ Onyango has been nominated in the Goalkeeper of the season category where he will compete with Daniel Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs) and Ronwen Williams (SuperSport United).
Onyango had eight cleans sheets from 21 league games as Sundowns mounted a comeback to win the PSL title on the last day of the season.
The 2019/20 season, however saw Onyango have some lows especially with injuries and bad days on the field in what proved to be a challenging spell for the ever reliable Cranes star.

Sundowns finished the season having conceded 22 goals, the joint lowest with Bidvest Wits whose goalkeeper Ricardo Goss has not been nominated in the Category.
Onyango’s fellow nominees, South African Ronwen of SuperSport kept the most clean sheets with 13 while Nigerian Akpeyi of Kaizer had nine.
Wayne Sandilands of Orlando Pirates misses out despite making 12 clean sheets alongside Richard Ofori (Maritzburg) and Veli Mothwa (Chippa) who kept 11 each.
