Cricket: Three Teams To Compete In T20 Elite League

Uganda Cricket Association has launched a three-team tournament on Saturday at Kati Kati, Lugogo in Kampala.

The tourney will be music to ears for both players and Cricket fans as UCA had cancelled all activities for the year 2020 due Covid19 pandemic.

Three teams – Mambas, Bucks and Scorpions – will face off in a T20 round robin format to determine the best two to play the final.

The teams will be housed in a bio secure bubble as the organisers seek to follow government directives on Covid19.

The tourney will be played at Lugogo Cricket Oval starting on October 25 to 31.

This will be important for the players who will be looking to convince new Cricket Cranes coach Lawrence Mahatlane ahead of Uganda’s tour to Qatar in December.

On Saturday, the team auctioning was held at the same event where the highest bidders purchased the teams.

The principal reseve price of each franchise was set at Sh4m.

Shiva Koti secured Scorpions at Sh5m, and renamed the team Aziz Damani Scorpions, a team that will be captained by Brian Masaba.
