Inaugural FUBA Cup Set For November – What We Know So Far

The preparations to organise the inaugural FUBA Cup is in advanced stages, The-SportsNation has learnt.

This will be a big boost for fans and players who have missed the action since March when a ban on Sports was effected.

The FUBA Cup 2020 will be a four-day tournament held on 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd of November.

FUBA has written to clubs, and urged them to confirm participation with the Secretariat
before the 1st of November 2020.

About 20 teams (10 men and 10 women) are expected to register.

The tournament will be held at Kampala International University (KIU) court but with no fans as stipulated by the government directives on Sports resumption.

The tournament is expected to keep players engaged ahead of next season’s league tipoff in March.

Eligible teams to participate shall be required to fulfil:

  • Registration of only a Sixteen (16) Team Member delegation by the Competition Committee.
  • Mandatory COVID19 Test for all the players and Club officials on the 12th of November 2020 before the Tournament at an accredited health facility.
    (Please note the fee is Ugx 100,000/= at Mulago National Referral Hospital).
  • Participation fee of Ugx 500000/= (subject to change if teams exceed the expected number above).
  • No fans shall be allowed at the venue during the tournament.
