Fabien Mutombora: Burundian Goalkeeper Extends Vipers Stay

Goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora has renewed his contract at reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers, its official.

Mutombora has signed a new three-year contract, keeping him at St. Mary’s stadium until 2023, Vipers has confirmed.

This puts an end to rumours that had been linking the Burundian with a move away for greener pastures.

“I’m really pleased to commit my future to Vipers SC and its great the club has put their faith in me,” Mutombora is quoted by the club website.

“I have achieved what have achieved here and I hope I can keep on learning, helping the team and lifting trophies over the next three years.”

Vipers, in this ongoing transfer window, has strongly tried to sign goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa

Mutombora, a vocal goalkeeper, joined the Venoms in August 2018 from Lydia Ludic Académic FC and was an integral figure as Vipers won the league last season.

The Kitende-based side has signed Joseph Dhata, David Bagoole, Ibrahim Orit, Disan Galiwango and Jamil Kaliisa as they prepare to defend the league and target CAF Champions League groups.
