(Scorpions win by 5 wickets)

Aziz Damani Scorpions picked their first win at the ongoing Elite T20 League after overcoming Mamba Challengers on Monday evening at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Scorpions, having lost their opener on Sunday to Bucks, came out with no room for errors before sailing to a five-wicket win.

Chasing 105 after Kenneth Waiswa’s 29 runs from 30 balls, Scorpions gave themselves a chance, losing the first wicket of Wasim Butt at 48-1.

However, the chase took a different direction when the Scorpions lost two wickets for just 24 runs – Zephaniah Arinaitwe and Brian Masaba were both eliminated with just 10 and 3 respectively, leading a big load behind.

It was Shazad Kamal’s unbeaten 37 that later helped Scorpions cross the finish line with about 10 balls to spare.

The loss, is the third from as many for the Mamba Challengers who had lost the morning encounter against the Bucks partly due to their dropped catches and ground-fielding errors.

Siraje Nsubuga picked three wickets before Simon Ssesazi hit 51 as Bucks, who restricted Mamba to 107/5, strolled for their third victory with just a ball to spare.
